Donation Guidelines

Thank you so much for considering donating toys to The Lane Cove Toy Library.

We would love to take every item you have, however there are strict insurance requirements when running a toy library. We have to undertake product recall searches and to do that we need to be able to identify a brand. If your toy, board game, or puzzles meets the following criteria, we would love you to donate.

We can only take items that are ‘ready for play’ in our collection. This includes:

• Toys, puzzles and games that are high quality, complete and in great condition
• Well-known brand-name toys. Unfortunately, if we can’t identify the brand, we cannot cannot include the toy in our collection for safety reason and insurance reasons
• Engaging and appealing to children aged from 6 months to 17 years of age
• Transportable and able to fit into a standard-sized car

Sorry, we cannot accept:

• Toys with damaged or missing parts
• Homemade toys
• Soft toys or plush toys or anything with a fabric you cannot wash
• Lower quality toys (from places such as Kmart/Anko-Branded, or the Reject Shop)
• Toys over 10 years old
• Bikes with chains, or powered ride-on toys
• Consumable items such as play-doh or arts and crafts supplies.

In summary if the toy has a brand name and good condition we would love it.
